Las Vegas has lots of ways to get your adrenaline pumping from roller coasters to zip lines and I did both while there.
Since my first real visit to Sin City ten years ago with Michael McLean’s The Forgotten Carols I’ve wanted to ride the roller coaster that wraps around New York New York. It looked like so much fun. I finally did it and can tell you it is so much fun! However, this roller coaster was just the start to an adrenaline pumping evening. A few hours later I was soaring over Fremont Street at 35 miles per hour like Superman.
The night before, while I was exploring the amazing Neon Museum Boneyard, my brothers went down to Fremont Street. That’s when they first saw the giant slot machine launching zip-liners out over this iconic Las Vegas landmark, and they decided we should all do it together (adults that is, Fremont Street isn’t really the most family friendly Vegas experience). The next day we made reservations for the higher of the two lines called the Zoomline after the kids were asleep.
Slotzilla’s Zoomline starts at ten stories over the street just under the LED roof and goes four blocks, the full length of the Fremont Street Experience. Because of the distance riders can go up to 35 mph. The Zoomline also sends riders on their bellies, whereas, the normal zip line that only goes a third of the distance is a standard sitting position.
Exhilarating is the best word to describe zooming under the glowing canopy over the crowds of revelers below. I loved it and would recommend adding it to your Vegas itinerary.
