For more than ten years, I’ve created photo wall calendars at holiday gifts for family and friends that feature images I’ve captured from my travels. Topics have ranged from architecture and design to wildlife and nature. There are often a few extra, so if you’re interested in getting one, please let me know.

2024 Scenes at Home and Abroad Wall Calendar

As I thought about the subject for this new calendar, I thought about the amazing adventures I had as a tour guide throughout Utah this year and also of some outstanding international travels over the last couple of years. Feedback from friends led me to highlights images from both Utah and adventures to other amazing places over the years. This year’s calendar highlights stunning natural scenery in Utah and one Utah cityscape as well as beautiful scenes from my travels to Ecuador, Morocco, France, India, and more.

2023 Uniquely Utah Wall Calendar

As a tour guide, Kevin loves sharing amazing, beautiful things with people from all over the world as they visit Utah. He loves hearing the gasps of amazement and oohs and ahhs from his guests as they experience the wonders of Utah and its neighbors for the first time. Whether it’s the sun popping up or dipping down over the horizon or wildlife meandering nearby, these are the experiences that will last a lifetime in our memories. This year’s calendar reflects some of those moments and places including the spectacular scenery of Utah’s national parks and forests, Salt Lake’s historic architecture, and more.

2022 Life Elevated in Utah Wall Calendar

After an unexpected return to living in the United States due to the Covid-19 pandemic, much of my focus and energy has gone into building Adventure Patches Tours and Experiences as a tour guide and provider in Utah. This means that most of my travel and explorations since returning stateside have been in Utah as I share this magnificent place with its pioneer stories and natural wonders with tour guests from around the world. My 2022 wall calendar features photography of exceptional Utah treasures including destinations on some of my more popular tours. These include both highlights of both Utah’s history and nature. This year’s calendars will be printed by a local printshop, so your purchase will be supporting two small Utah businesses. These are photo wall calendars printed on 8.5×11 inch card stock. They have coil binding and a hole for hanging.

2021 Magnificent Mosaics Wall Calendar

My newest wall calendar features photography of magnificent mosaics in Spain, Turkey, Morocco, and Greece. These masterful works are made of small tiles expertly fit together to create an overall spectacular work of art. My trip to Portugal and Morocco inspired this theme as both are brimming with beautiful ceramic works. Portugal is more about ceramic tiles that mimic the intricate mosaics of Morocco and Spanish Islamic design. Whereas, Morocco has stunning mosaic patterned walls and floors all across the country. Of course, any collection of mosaics from these countries would also include ancient works of art that are figurative in nature. These include the masterpieces of Hagia Sofia, which may be lost or hidden once again as the building reverts back to an active mosque.

2020 All Creatures Great and Small Wall Calendar

Twenty years ago, many would have thought I would be working as a zoologist when I grew up. Animals have always interested me. In 2019, my travels included a life-changing trip to South Africa where I giddily indulged in the spectacular wildlife of Africa on several safari drives. That inspired this calendar that features wildlife from around the globe. There are classic African animals such as zebra, elephant, and lion. Two months proudly display lizards, one from Taiwan and one from Arizona. My exciting leopard sighting in India and animals from Mongolia, Malaysia, and America make up the rest.

2019 Beijing Temples Wall Calendar

While living in Beijing, I took the opportunity to visit as many cultural and historical sites as I could. In 2018, I undertook the task of exploring Beijing religious heritage with visits to more than a dozen important temples, mosques, and altars. Beijing has been a capitol city for more than 1,000 years. My journey through its religious edifices introduced me to some of the most spectacular places in the city that most visitors and even locals would never knew existed.

2018 Adventure Is Out There Wall Calendar

I try to take every opportunity I get to explore the world. I love experiencing cultures through their people, architecture, textiles, religions, food, and more. Over two years, I had been to more than half a dozen countries. Those trips inspired this calendar with its images from China, Greece, Turkey, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, Qatar, and the U.S. As the name of this website and its content suggests, adventure is out there, so let’s go have one!

2017 Look Up Wall Calendar

Many great structures have great ceilings, and I love looking at up at them. Sometimes they are grand rotundas or colorful coffers. Other times they have spectacular stained glass and skylights or elaborate murals and mosaics. Some of the world’s greatest art is found on ceilings. Too often we just hurry on our way not looking up or down but straight ahead or, in our ever increasing wirelessly connected life, at the electronic device in our hands. When you walk through the streets of a grand city such as New York or Hong Kong, you have to look up to truly experience the place. The same goes for a visit to the redwood groves of California. So next time you’re in a special place, look up and experience something more. I can’t guarantee that all ceilings will be spectacular, but the ones that are you will only see if you look up regularly. Just remember, all over the world, magnificent ceilings are above us. This collection of images includes magnificent ceilings from around the world.

2016 Utah’s National Parks Wall Calendar

In 2015, I checked another item off my bucket list as I hiked in all five of Utah’s national parks. Known as The Mighty 5, these parks protect some spectacular scenery and heritage. From Zion’s Butterfinger cliffs and emerald pools to the slot canyon mazes of Canyonlands, I enjoyed every moment of exploration in these parks. The photos in this calendar include images from all five national parks as well as several of Utah’s national monuments.

2015 Taliesin West Wall Calendar

The desert may not sound attractive to some, but I fell in love with it while living in Arizona. During my short time in the Grand Canyon State, I explored its vast wonders, both natural and man-made. As a tour guide and grant writer for the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation, I had exclusive access and intimate experience working in a National Historic Landmark and UNESCO World Heritage Site–Taliesin West. I found joy in the details of the desert as it blossomed in spring and revealed gems in Petrified Forest National Park. The ancient Puebloan architecture always mesmerized me as well as the baroque San Xavier del Bac.
