“Yea, all things which come of the earth, in the season thereof, are made for the benefit and the use of man, both to please the eye and to gladden the heart.”

One of the main tenets of Thoreau’s philosophies in Walden is to get closer to nature—to appreciate it and see the miracle in every little bit of it. This I can’t agree with more. I feel like everyone can benefit from a little more meditation in nature. This helps us see we are a part of a greater whole and that there is something more powerful than ourselves. An old Welsh definition of genius states:

“An eye that can see nature, a heart that can feel nature and a resolution that dares to follow nature.”

This gallery showcases some of the miracle in nature with wildlife and animals and beautiful natural scenes. Note: while they all fall within the nature category, not all of them are in the wild. Some are animals at zoos or aquariums.
